Why Trek to Everest Base Camp?
Because few places on Earth feel this remote, raw, and rewarding.
The Everest Base Camp trek combines towering Himalayan scenery with Sherpa culture, high-altitude villages, Buddhist monasteries, and a genuine sense of progression as every day takes you deeper into the mountains.
Unlike shorter hikes, EBC feels earned. You notice the thinner air, the colder mornings, and the slower pace of life as you climb higher into the Khumbu region.
🥾 Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary
🇳🇵 Day 1 – Arrive in Kathmandu
Touch down in Nepal’s chaotic but vibrant capital. Pick up final trekking supplies, eat something excellent, and mentally prepare for the mountains ahead.
🚁 Day 2 – Fly to Lukla (2,860m) → Trek to Phakding (2,610m)
The Lukla flight is legendary for a reason. One of the world’s most dramatic airport landings drops you straight into the Himalayas before the trek officially begins.
The walk to Phakding is relatively gentle, following the Dudh Koshi river through pine forest and small villages.
🏞️ Day 3 – Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
One of the toughest early days of the trek. Suspension bridges, steep climbs, and your first real taste of altitude.
Namche Bazaar is the Sherpa hub of the region - packed with bakeries, trekking shops, cafes, and incredible mountain views.

⛰️ Day 4 – Acclimatization Day in Namche
A crucial rest day to help your body adapt to altitude. Most trekkers hike to nearby viewpoints before returning to Namche to recover, eat, and hydrate.
Altitude sickness is real - this day matters.
🕉️ Day 5 – Namche to Tengboche (3,867m)
The trail winds through pine forest with dramatic Himalayan views before climbing to Tengboche Monastery, one of the most famous spiritual sites in the Everest region.
This is often the moment the trek truly starts to feel “high mountain”.
🌄 Day 6 – Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m)
Tree lines begin to disappear as the landscape turns increasingly alpine and rugged. Ama Dablam dominates the skyline for much of the route.

🏔️ Day 7 – Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Another vital acclimatization stop before heading toward the glacier region.
Most trekkers spend the day slowly hiking nearby ridges before resting back in the village. Hydration and patience become increasingly important from here onwards.
🏕️ Day 8 – Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m)
The terrain becomes harsher and quieter as you approach the Khumbu Glacier. Memorials to climbers lost on Everest line parts of the trail - a sobering reminder of the mountain environment.
💪 Day 9 – Gorakshep → Everest Base Camp (5,364m) → Kala Patthar (5,644m)
The biggest and most rewarding day of the trek.
Reach Everest Base Camp itself before climbing Kala Patthar for panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. The altitude is brutal, but the views are unforgettable.

🔁 Day 10 – Gorakshep to Namche Bazaar
The descent begins. Oxygen returns, legs loosen slightly, and familiar villages begin to reappear.
You’ll probably still be exhausted.
🏁 Day 11 – Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Your final day trekking. Cross the suspension bridges one last time before reaching Lukla and celebrating the completion of the trek properly.
✈️ Day 12 – Fly to Kathmandu
Back to the chaos of Kathmandu - hot showers, proper coffee, and reflecting on one of the greatest trekking routes in the world.
